Sandra L. McNees, 69, of Butler passed away Tuesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born in Butler on July 30, 1943, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Margaret T. “Maggie” Cherry Kranbacher Sr.

She was formerly employed at Troutman’s Department Store. She also was a hairdresser, and she baked wedding and birthday cakes. She loved to read, bake and cook.

Sandra was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Highfield Auxiliary, the Democratic Women’s Club, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Michael Kosar American Legion Post 778, and the choir of St. Michael’s Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Jackie Flatt and her husband, Dave, of Butler; one son, Eric McNees of Butler; two grandsons, Noah Flatt and Nick Flatt of Butler; one brother, William “Bill” Kranbacher II and his wife, Sandi, of Butler; one sister, Darlene Lerch and her husband, Russ, of Chesterfield, Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband John “Jack” McNees, who passed away Aug. 28, 1982.

MCNEES — Friends of Sandra L. McNees, who passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, will be received in the Martin Funeral Home Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

Burial will take place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

The Bereavement Group of St. Michael the Archangel Church will meet at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Thursday to conduct a scriptural wake service.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to VNA Hospice.
