Julia Lardin

Julia A. Lardin, 78, of Lyndora died early Monday morning at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 19, 1934, in Penn Township and was a daughter of the late Sebastian and Victoria (Bugar) Furka.

Julia had worked in the Food Service Department for the Butler School District at the senior high school for 10 years, was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, and was an avid gardener.

Surviving are her husband, Robert C. Lardin, who she married July 23, 2002; one son, Gary L. Swigart and his fiance, Sherri Lynn, of Lyndora; one brother, Joseph (Sarah) Furka of Butler; one sister, Susie Zavacky of Butler; two stepsons, Robert W. (Debbie) Lardin of upstate New York and Donald J. (Bonnie) Lardin of Port Huron, Mich.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Homer L. “Blackie” Swigart Jr., who she married April 16, 1955, and he died July 25, 1994. One brother and six sisters also preceded her in death.

LARDIN — Friends of Julia A. Lardin, who died Monday, April 1, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. The Rev. Harry Bielewicz, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.St. Paul's Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:40 a.m. Thursday at the church to recite the rosary.
