Providence Plantation, a center for living history presentations about 18th century frontier life at 300 Textor Hill Road, Evans City, will be the site of demonstrations of colonial trades such as cooking, spinning, woodworking and knot tying from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Events will include a character interpretation: “Christopher Gist and Archaeology in the Ohio Valley,” plus a question-and-answer session and period music. Harmony Museum on Mercer Street in Harmony offers guided tours that include the 1809 main museum building and wine cellar and a neighboring early 19th century house, both built by the communal Harmony Society, and a Mennonite log house. Tours are offered 1 to 4 p.m. daily except Mondays. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens, and $3 for those ages 6 to 17. Call 724-452-7341.

Old Economy Village in Ambridge is open year-round. Admission is $10 for adults ages 12 to 64, $9 for senior citizens, $6 for children ages 3 to 11, and free for active military personnel. Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, 1 Schenley Park, presents its May Market from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 10 and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 11. May Market admission is free.
