Three area actors will be in the Pittsburgh Musical Theater's production of “Disney's Tarzan” May 9 to 19 at the Byham Theater, 101 Sixth St.
Appearing will be Jessica Ortiz of Penn Township in the ape tribe, Brecken Farrell of Saxonburg as young Tarzan, and Brady Patsy of East Brady on the expedition team.
Shows will be at 7:30 p.m. May 9, 10, 11, 17 and 18 and at 2 p.m. May 12 and 19.

The Bach Society, under the direction of David Mruk, will be presenting “Bach from the Heart” at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.The love-themed concert will feature songs like “Unforgettable,” “Someone to Watch Over Me,” and “Shenandoah,” among others.The Friday concert will be at Center Presbyterian Church in Slippery Rock, with the Saturday concert at Tower Presbyterian Church in Grove City.Admission is free.
JACKSON TWP — Seneca Valley Intermediate and Senior High School students will perform “Romeo and Juliet” — a version that has been modernized while still holding true to some of the language and many of the famous lines — at 7:30 p.m. May 22, 24 and 25.
JEFFERSON TWP — This year's Rock at Knoch Battle of the Bands, scheduled for Friday, has been canceled due to a lack of bands interested in participating.
AVELLA, Washington County — Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village, billed as the oldest site of human habitation in North America, will kick off its season at noon Saturday. A variety of special events highlight the schedule, including an Atlatl competition on June 15.In May, Meadowcroft is open noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays.Admission is $12 for adults, $11 for senior citizens, and $6 for children ages 6 to 17.
