LOCK HAVEN — Slippery Rock University junior Lou Trivino has been named PSAC West Pitcher of the Week.

Trivino tossed a four-hit shutout against California (Pa.) Friday. He struck out seven, threw only 78 pitches and faced only two batters over the minimum.

McClellan, Stoops 2nd in tournamentSEWICKLEY — Butler Country Club pro Rob McClellan teamed with Rob Stoops to place second at the MIZUNO Pro-Scratch Amateur Monday at Allegheny Country Club.The duo shot a 6-under-par 64 to finish a stroke behind Ryan Sikora and Sean Knapp. McClellan carded a 64 and was low pro in the event.Free youth clinic at Pullman ParkThe 10 participating teams in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Baseball Championships will put on a free youth baseball clinic Sunday at Pullman Park.The clinic will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. and is open to youths ages 6-12. The first 100 youths to attend will receive a free T-shirt.

Bucs’ Sanchez out; Morris called upMILWAUKEE — The Pittsburgh Pirates have designated left-hander Jonathan Sanchez for assignment.Sanchez, 30, appeared in five games for the Pirates this season, and went 0-3 with an 11.85 ERA. He worked 2 1-3 innings Monday against the Brewers and allowed two runs on four hits, including two home runs.Pittsburgh called up right-hander Bryan Morris from Triple-A Indianapolis, where he allowed one run in 6 1-3 innings.
