Lester Boyer

Lester Boyer, 87, of Butler passed away peacefully at 1:03 a.m. Saturday at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills in Zephyrhills, Fla.

Lester was born in Armstrong County on Oct. 4, 1925, the son of the late Stella (Ruffner) and Lester E. Boyer.

He was the owner and operator of B.L. Boyer Heating & Cooling in Slippery Rock. For 40 years, Lester was a member of the St. John’s Reformed Church in Butler.

He is survived by his wife, H. Lorraine (Blackburn) Boyer; his son, Jack Boyer of Slippery Rock; his two daughters, Judy (Chester) Talarczyk of Berea, Ohio, and Janice (Fred) Sparrevohn of Long Beach, Calif.; and a stepdaughter, Betty Ferney of Freeport. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bette Boyer, and his son, James Boyer.

BOYER — Family and friends of Lester Boyer, who passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Dr. Robert C. Peterson officiating.
