M. Maxine Myers
M. Maxine Myers, 79, of Iowa City, Iowa, formerly of Millbrook Road, Worth Township, passed away at 11 p.m. Tuesday at the Briarwood Health Care Center, Iowa City, Iowa, following a 33-year illness with Parkinson’s disease.
She was born in Irwin Township, Mercer County, on Sept. 5, 1933, to Glenn C. Riddle and Mildred J. Hoffman Riddle.
She married Earl F. Myers on Nov. 23, 1954, and he passed away on Aug. 20, 1996.
She retired from United Community Hospital, Grove City, as an LPN, where she was a nurse for 27 years. She started her career at the former Bashline Hospital, Grove City.
She was a graduate of the Wesley High School Class of 1951, and she was a member of the Ole Bashline Alumni Group.
She is survived by three children, Thomas L. Myers and his wife, Pam, of Stoneboro, Pa., Jeffery L. Myers and his wife, Susan, of Hilliards and Linda S. Myers of Iowa City, Iowa. She also is survived by four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, four great-granddaughters, a great-grandson, two step-great grandsons, and two sisters, Bernice Badger and her husband, R. Kenneth, and Judy McFadden and her husband, Dale, both of Mercer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Joyce Riddle and Geraldine Monteleone.
MYERS — Visitation for M. Maxine Myers, who passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the Cunningham Funeral Home, Grove City. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. G. Kenton Shaw, retired pastor officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.
