New at Knoch! High school presents spring play

Rehearsing for Knoch High School's first spring play are, from left, Tommy Edwards, Emily Christy, Taylor Dolniak and Montana Simpson.

JEFFERSON TWP — For the first time, Knoch High School will be presenting an all-school spring play, and it’s a Shannon Donovan original.

The junior high student wrote the show called “You” — set at a busy New York hotel — with some ideas from the Knoch Drama Club.

“You” is the name of the hotel bellhop who is silent throughout the show, and all sorts of wild people with life issues and problems check in. Mayhem occurs.

You the bellhop changes the guests’ lives merely through her actions.

The show is a dramatic, romantic comedy all mixed into one production.

The two themes are: No matter how small you are, you can make a difference, and actions speak louder than words.

The play will go on at 7 p.m. today in the high school auditorium. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to benefit the school’s Drama Club.

This spring play is completely student run. Shannon is directing, and the crew and tech jobs are filled by students, too.

The cast list includes: Emily Christy as You, Tommy Edwards as Dennis, Mara Flannery as Moody, Cody Bracken as James and Hartman, Alison Schemrich as Opal, Carrie Peters as Alaina, Alysha Federkeil as Tammy, Monika Porch as Gretchen, Sarah McCabe as Evelyn, Liam Neigh as Red and Miles, David Beck as Ham, Pheonix Kelly as Honey, Sam Kravits as Pepper, Montana Simpson as Cole, and Taylor Dolniak as Summer.
