Butler County Historical Society, as part of the commemoration of the sesquicentennial of the Civil War, is hosting a new traveling exhibit “The Civil War in Pennsylvania” through April 27 at the Senator Lowrie House, 123 W. Diamond St. The 500-square-foot exhibit, created by the Senator John Heinz History Center for its affiliate museums, includes four lifelike museum figures, previously unseen photographs and large museum panels describing Pennsylvania's contributions to the Civil War. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, noon to 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children ages 5 to 17. Harmony Museum on Mercer Street in Harmony offers guided tours that include the 1809 main museum building and wine cellar and a neighboring early 19th century house, both built by the communal Harmony Society, and a Mennonite log house. Tours are offered from 1 to 4 p.m. daily except Mondays and holidays. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens age 60 and older, and $3 for youth ages 6 to 17. Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, 1 Schenley Park, will have a Butterfly Forest from Saturday through Sept. 2 and the Summer Flower Show from April 27 to Oct. 6. Conservatory hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and until 10 p.m. on Fridays. Admission is $15 for adults, $14 for senior citizens and students, and $11 for children ages 2 to 18.
