In loving memory of William P. Hetrick who passed away April 17, 1978

I will never say goodbye to you Daddy, because I know this is not the end for us to see each other.

For now, we have gone our separate ways, and 35 years later, the man who loved me, called me “Punkie” and wrapped me in arms so strong has gone where I cannot reach him, but my love for him lives on.

You were always there to listen, love and defend me in everything. You were my best friend. In my triumphs you were always so proud.

I would give up everything I have to hug you just one more time.

I so vividly remember the last time I held your hand and how you looked into my eyes. My world had changed forever and it was as though my heart, too had stopped beating when they told me you were gone. How I wish I had only been dreaming.

You were always there for me and never once made me cry, until the day you closed your eyes and left me behind. Now you are my Angel, so spread your wings out wide and wrap me tightly if you should ever see me cry.

As I reflect on a life whose love touched so many, I realize how far-reaching love truly is and how one single life can change the world for the better!

Benny, your grandchildren and others do miss you so, even your great-grandchildren who only know you through stories they’ve been told.

You have all of our immediate family with you, except for me. I’ll join you someday, but until then, please know that my heart still belongs to you Daddy!
