Gregory Alan Markowski, 50, died Friday in Gloucester County, Va.

He was born in Pittsburgh, and was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He attended the Saint Gregory Catholic Church in Zelienople and graduated from Seneca Valley High School in 1981. He participated in the Boy Scouts, Little League baseball and football, Seneca Valley High School marching and symphonic bands, chorus, Madrigals and church choirs. He was a member of the Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Yorktown.

Gregory is survived by his parents, Patricia and Edmund; his sisters, Patricia Sipes, Judith Kaelin, Christine Chaffin and Lynn Prather; his brother, Steven; his daughter, Monica Crowe; and extended family and many friends.

MARKOWSKI — A funeral service for Gregory Alan Markowski, who died Friday, March 8, 2013, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Yorktown, Va. He will be buried at sea later by the U.S. Navy.Arrangements are by the Amory Funeral Home, Grafton, Va.
