Betty Osche

Betty A. Osche, 70, of Cabot passed away Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 10, 1942, in Rochester, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Paul and Belle (Stewart) Teets of Rochester.

Betty was a graduate of Freedom High School. She worked as an education assistant for the South Butler School District for 23 years. She served as president of the Secretary's Union, for the local chapter of the Pennsylvania State Education Association. She went on to serve in many roles and committees and was currently vice president of the Butler County Public School Employee's Retirement System.

Betty was an active member of the St. Joseph Parish in Cabot. She taught Sunday School and Rite of Catholic Initiation for Adults for 33 years. She served as a lector for St. Joseph's. She was also a member of the Christian Mothers Association for more than 50 years.

Betty also volunteered with all the high school booster programs and was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. She was also a member of the American Legion 683 Women's Auxiliary.

Betty loved to travel with Lanny and her family. She enjoyed traveling in the United States and abroad. She enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her family and friends.

Betty is survived by her husband of 51 years, Lanny J. Osche, who she married May 6, 1961; her children, Teresa (Harry) Sintz of Butler, Lanny J. (Mary) Osche Jr. of Irwin, Tina (Jeff) Lowers of Freeport, and Von Osche of Indianapolis, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Ashley and Alex Sintz, Elizabeth, Matthew and Abigail Osche and Kaleigh and Sophia Lowers; two sisters, Alice (Bud) Loomis and Carol (Paul) Eichner, and one brother, Andrew (Sue) Teets.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul.

OSCHE — Friends of Betty A. Osche, who passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main, Saxonburg, PA 16056.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 315 Stoney Hollow Road, Cabot.
