Ronald D. Heckert, 67, of Cabot passed away Saturday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born May 24, 1945, in Mars, and was the son of the late Mabel (File) Heckert.

Ron loved playing guitar and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and he had worked at Cooper Bessemer.

Surviving are his wife, who he married April 22, 1973, Patricia Heckert; and his grandchildren, Jakob and Hayley Heckert, both at home.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Heckert, who died June 17, 2007.
