Jason Radwan and Kyle Thomas, who played for the Butler BlueSox last season, are returning to the team as coaches.
Radwan, from St. Bonaventure University, will be the hitting coach while Thomas, from California (Pa.) University, will serve as pitching coach.
“Both of these guys want to begin a coaching career and this is a great place to begin,” BlueSox manager Anthony Rebyanski said.
Pirates call up right-hander MorrisPITTSBURGH — Right-handed reliever Bryan Morris was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis by the Pittsburgh Pirates before Friday night’s game with the Cincinnati Reds and fellow righty Chris Leroux was designated for assignment.Leroux had a 6.75 ERA in two relief appearances this season, allowing three runs and four hits in three innings with six walks and three strikeouts. He can opt for free agency if he clears waivers rather than accept an assignment to Indianapolis.
Ravens pick up linebacker McClainOWINGS MILLS, Md. — Inside linebacker Rolando McClain has signed a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens.McClain passed his physical Friday before signing. He comes to the Ravens as a free agent after being released by the Oakland Raiders this month.The 6-foot-4, 259-pound McClain spent three years with Oakland after being selected eighth overall in the 2010 NFL draft.
