Betty Lou Forrester

Betty Lou Forrester, 85, of Renfrew passed away at 6 p.m. Saturday surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 24, 1927, in Detroit, Mich., to the late Franklin Raub and Zetta (Hellems) Raub.

Betty was a member of the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church for 50 years. She enjoyed her home and family. Mrs. Forrester liked going anywhere with her girls, especially out to eat. She took great pride in all of her grandchildren and loved telling her friends of their adventures.

Her friends were very important to her and she enjoyed chatting and spending time with them as often as possible. She enjoyed reading, the Steelers, watching golf and rooting for her favorites. Betty was always ready for a shopping trip and loved going to her daughters’ homes for family gatherings.

Mrs. Forrester is survived by four daughters, Karen French and her husband, David, of Butler, Rebecca “Becky” Kennedy Williams and her husband, Rodney, of Portersville, Susan “Sue” Varner and her husband, Francis, of Mt. Chestnut and Melissa “Missi” Koebler and her husband, Eugene, of Connoquenessing; eight grandchildren, Christopher Waggett, Steven Kennedy, Amanda Kennedy, Derek Varner, Brandie (Varner) Craig and her husband, Joshua, Brittnee (Koebler) Hammonds and her husband, Patrick, Jasmin Koebler and PFC Dalton Koebler, U.S. Marine Corps; five great grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Raub of Elmira, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James N. “Tucker” Forrester, who she married on Dec. 26, 1953, and who passed away on Dec. 11, 1997, and also by one sister, Dorothy Green.

FORRESTER — Friends of Betty Lou Forrester, who passed away Saturday March 9, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St. Butler.Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, 102 Shannon Road, Renfrew, with the Rev. Lee Dreyer of the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church officiating.
