William P. Grupp

William P. Grupp, 68, of Butler passed away Tuesday evening at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Wexford on Jan. 1, 1945, and was the son of the late John C. and Martha DeVries Grupp.

He owned and operated Suburban Handyman in Butler for 18 years. Bill also formerly owned Allison Park Hardware and Suburban Hardware in Butler.

He was a graduate of North Allegheny High School and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Toni Montgomery Grupp, to whom he was married for 41 years; his two daughters, Jennifer L. Eckrich and her husband, Neal, of Alexandria, Va., and Jessica L. Cooper and her husband, Brian, of Butler; his two granddaughters, Sophia Grace Cooper and Pearson Mary Eckrich; his five brothers, Jack Grupp and his wife, Nancy, of Harmony, Robert Grupp of Wexford, Kenneth Grupp of Santa Monica, Calif., Joseph Grupp and his wife, Jeanie, of Jeannette, Pa., and Michael Grupp and his wife, Vikki, of Charlotte, N.C.; his two sisters, Joan Lemmon and her husband, Charles Harbaugh, of Butler, and Cynthia McMinn and her husband, William, of Damascus, Md.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, David Grupp; and one sister, Marilyn Vernier.

GRUPP — Friends of William P. Grupp, who passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, were received at the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler, Friday. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday at that Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev.
