Laura 'Laurie' Marie Zoelle

Laura “Laurie” Marie Zoelle, 54, of Zelienople passed away Tuesday while under the care of the UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

She was born Aug. 2, 1958, in Akron, Ohio, and was the daughter of John and Catherine (Trifiro) Bender of Mars.

Laurie appreciated sports and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins. In her free time she enjoyed bowling, camping, attending craft shows and Sunday dinners with her family.

She was employed as an office manager for Mark. M. Mitros, MD, and worked at his Wexford location.

Laurie adored her two dogs, Ally and Emma, but above all, she cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Russell D. Zoelle Sr.; her four children, Nathan Statzer and his wife, Abbey, of Zelienople, Katelyn Statzer of Zelienople, Russell D. Zoelle Jr. and his wife, Cassandra, of Evans City and Sommer Safreed of Evans City; her brother, Keith Bender of Renfrew; her sisters, Melissa Szelc and her husband, Michael, of Moon Township, Mary Jo Schmidt and her husband, Milt, of Georgia and Kimberly Smith and her husband, Matthew, of Maine; her precious grandchildren, Landyn Safreed and Mark and Luke Zoelle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

ZOELLE — Family of Laura “Laurie” Marie Zoelle, who passed away Tuesday March 5, 2013, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, PA 16063, with Fr. Larry Smith, celebrant. She will be laid to rest at the Pinewood Memorial Park in Cranberry Township.Memorial donations may be made in her honor in support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 654 Madison Ave., Suite 1209, New York, NY 10021.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Laurie’s family at www.boylanfuneralhome.com.
