Jean Elizabeth Painter, 89, of Butler passed away Sunday at the Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born July 26, 1923, in Cabot, she was the daughter of the late Chart W. and Dena (Roenigk) Painter.

Jean was a graduate of Winfield High School. She went on to graduate from the Allegheny Valley School of Nursing.

After graduation, she worked as a nurse at the Eye and Ear Presbyterian Hospital. She had a very successful nursing career for 35 years.

Jean was a member of the Buffalo Presbyterian Church. Following retirement, she lived in Butler, where she attended the Calvary Presbyterian Church. She loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pirates. Jean was a loving and caring person and will be deeply missed.

Surviving are her brother, Lyle C. Painter and his wife, Thelma Painter, of Butler; niece, Janet Lehnerd and her husband, Philip H. Lehnerd III, of Renfrew; niece, Debra Matis and her husband, Fred Matis, of Plum; and niece, Barbara O’Bruba and her two sons, Joey and Tyler, of Baden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William J. Painter; a sister, Eleanor Kerven; a niece, Constance Garey; and a nephew, James Painter.

PAINTER — There will be no visitation or services for Jean Elizabeth Painter, who passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013. Interment will be at the Buffalo Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
