William L. Roenigk

William Roenigk

Mr. William L. Roenigk, Jr., 57, formerly of Natrona Heights and Buffalo Township, passed away Saturday at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, with his family by his side.

He was born June 14, 1955, in Harrison Township, and was a son of the late William L. Roenigk Sr., who passed away in 1991, and his mother, Jeanne (Korbeck) Roenigk of Buffalo Township.

He has lived the past 35 years in Natrona Heights and has lived in Pittsburgh most recently.

He was the president of W.L. Roenigk, Inc. in Buffalo Township, having worked there since his childhood.

William was a Christian. He was the past president and a board member of the Pennsylvania School Bus Association, and a member of the Cloa Club of New Kensington. He graduated in 1973 from Freeport High School. He enjoyed motorcycles and fine cigars.

Industry magazine recently honored W.L. Roenigk, Inc. as having the 10th largest school bus fleet in the United States, serving 26 school districts in Western Pennsylvania.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 36 years, Monica C. (Prorok) Roenigk; his daughter, Casey L. Silverman and Aaron, who he considered a son, of Buffalo Township; his granddaughter, Allison Silverman; his siblings, Robert (Janet) Roenigk of Natrona Heights, Patricia (Alan) Kirk of State College, Susan Roenigk of Natrona Heights, David (Michelle) Roenigk of Natrona Heights, Michael (Hope) Roenigk of Buffalo Township, Andrew Roenigk of Buffalo Township, Nancy (Richard) Stewart of Buffalo Township, Walter “Butch” (Darnell) Furer of Orwigsburg, Pa., Fred (Donna) Keville of California, Richard Keville of California and Barbara Myers of Buffalo Township; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

ROENIGK — There will be visitation for Mr. William L. Roenigk Jr., who passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Duster Funeral Home, Tenth Ave. at Corbet St., Tarentum, PA 15084, 724-224-1526, where services will be 10 a.m. Friday with Todd O'Shell officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.There will be additional parking with a shuttle provided at First United Presbyterian Church parking lot, East 10th Avenue, Tarentum.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O.
