SRU's Jewel snaps record in 800 meters
RALEIGH, N.C. — Slippery Rock University mid-distance standout Kevin Jewel shattered his own school record and ran the fastest 800-meter time in the nation (Division II)Saturday at the Raleigh Relays.
Jewel won his heat and placed second overall with a time of one minute, 49.86 seconds. His previous school record, set in 2011, was 1:49.51.
