Lee Benedict Halverson

Lee Benedict Halverson, 74, of Cranberry Township passed away Sunday while in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.

He was born Nov. 14, 1938, in Troy, N.Y., and was the son of Emily Benedict Grey of Cranberry Township and the late Alfred Halverson.

Lee was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force and then flew commercially for 30 years. He will be remembered by those he loved as a true Renaissance man who relished working with his hands, but above all, as a man who cherished the time spent with his family.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his adoring wife of 39 years, Patricia (McGaughey) Halverson; his three loving children, Robert Halverson and his wife, Lynne, Emily Benedict Gascoyne and her husband, Peter, and Trygve Lee Halverson and his wife, Kristin; his five grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua and Lee Benedict and Jake and Jesse Halverson; and his two great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Avery.

In addition to his father, Lee was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Halverson.

HALVERSON — Services and interment for Lee Benedict Halverson, who passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, will be held privately by Lee's family.
