August A. Guzzie Jr., 75, of Grove City, formerly of Valencia, passed away at 7:27 a.m. Friday at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia, Cabot, due to an illness.

He was born in Blawnox, Pa., on Feb. 16, 1938, and was the son of August A. Guzzie Sr. and Dorothy Kober Guzzie.

He married Mary Elizabeth Dedo on March 12, 1982.

He retired in 1996 from Westinghouse Nuclear Power Division, Monroeville, where he was a technician for 36 years.

A Catholic, Augie enjoyed time spent with his family, and he was an avid Steelers and West Virginia Mountaineers fan.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth, at home; two daughters, Melissa G. Chutz and her husband, Ben, of Grove City and Tina Clark and her husband, Mark, of Kittanning; five granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
