Charles W. 'Chuck' Ferris

Ferris

Charles William “Chuck” Ferris of West Palm Beach, Fla., originally from Butler, passed away peacefully after a long and brave battle with Parkinson’s disease at 2:12 a.m. Feb. 14 at the Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. Chuck was surrounded by his loving family and family pastor.

He was born in Karns City on Sept. 1, 1941, to the late James T. Ferris and Helen Ferris Messina.

Chuck had a great gift of making people laugh, lighting up a room and had the singing voice of an angel. He loved life, made friends everywhere and was always smiling. Chuck was a true Christian and loved sharing his Christian faith.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Christopher (Dawn) Bachinski, and two granddaughters, Jessica Ramos of Tallahassee, Fla., and Julia Ramos of Jupiter, Fla.; and his two sons, Scott M. Ferris of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Dustin C. Ferris of Chambersburg. Chuck is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Zanella of Chicora, Mrs. David (Valerie) Price of New Castle and Mrs. Margaret Edinger of Butler. He is also survived and loved by seven nieces and nephews, and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Vincent P. Messina, and two brothers.

Chuck’s last wishes were to have everyone at his memorial know how easy it was to spend eternity in heaven and that Jesus was just waiting for you to invite him into your heart to join him for Eternal Joy.

Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for loving me, even when I’ve ignored You, and walked away from You. Today I know I need You in my life. Come into my heart and forgive me of my sins. Make me a new person, from the inside out. And as best as I know how, I am going to follow You the rest of my life. I believe You love me. I believe Your son, Jesus, died on the cross for me and rose from the dead. I ask You, Lord, to forgive me of all my sins, and I repent of my sins.

Today, I confess Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Charles William Ferris, loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. Rejoicing in the Lord! Sept. 1, 1941 to Feb. 14, 2013.
