Stanley C. 'Cork' Langston, Jr.
Stanley C. “Cork” Langston, Jr. 62, of Winslow Hill Road, Benezette, Pa., died Monday at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born May 29, 1950, in Washington, D.C., and was the son of Stanley C. Sr. and Marjorie (Zema) Langston. He married Pegenne (Jones) June 25, 1983.
He was a graduate of Knoch High School in Saxonburg.
He served for two years in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, and was a corporal in the Marines Corps Air Division.
He worked for 11 years with Moonlight Mushrooms of Winfield. He was a truck driver for William B. Altman Trucking of Fenelton and he worked for 30 years with Air Products & Chemicals of Allentown where he traveled the world overseeing construction and maintenance of cryogenic plants.
He enjoyed the Pittsburgh Pirates, gardening, maintaining his lawn, and fishing, and he was an avid hunter. He was known as “Gunsmoke.”
He is survived by his parents, Stanley C., Sr. and Marjorie (Zema) Langston of Cabot; his wife, Pegenne (Jones) Langston of Benezette, Pa.; his three children, Stephen Langston of Katy, Texas, Tamara Langston of Butler and Sonya Langston of Benezette, Pa.; his seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Gregory Langston of Butler.
LANGSTON — There will be no visitation for Stanley C. “Cork” Langston, who died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013. A private funeral will be held at the family's convenience.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home, Penfield, Pa. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Winslow Hill, Benezette, Pa.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Bennett's Valley Ambulance, the Gateway Humane Society or the Hahne Cancer Center.
