Rock tennis now 6-0

The Slippery Rock University women’s tennis team picked up its sixth consecutive win with a 9-0 drubbing of Bloomsburg on Thursday at Hilton Head Island, S.C.

Sarah Joumond and Kasey Love paced The Rock (6-4) with an 8-0 rout in No. 1 doubles, before they each claimed victories in singles action.

SRU is 5-0 during its spring-break trip to South Carolina and four of six victories during its win streak have come by 9-0 margins.

SoftballThe Slippery Rock University softball team dropped a pair of decisions at the NTC Spring Games in Clermont on Thusrday afternoon.Minnesota Duluth cruised past SRU for a 13-0 win in six innings, as Megan Mullen and Cayli Snyder combined to throw a no-hitter.Indiana (Pa.) edged The Rock by a 5-4 margin. Katie Kaiser had two hits, two runs and an RBI for Slippery Rock, while Alaynna Beers also added two hits. Taylor Welch and Megan Maloney each drove in a run.SRU (3-7) will look to snap a six-game losing skid in games today against Kutztown and the New York Institute of Technology.
