Elnora Heeter

Elnora Catherine Heeter, 88, of Clarksburg, W.Va., formerly of Chicora, departed this life on Wednesday at the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, W.Va.

She was born in Butler County on Oct. 13, 1924, a daughter of the late Harry Fleeger and Mary (Jordan) Fleeger.

Mrs. Heeter was a Methodist. She retired from the Heartland Nursing Home as a cook. She loved gardening and all of her flowers. Elnora adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Paul Arthur Heeter, preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, William R. Heeter (Stasia), of Portsmouth, Va.; two daughters, Shirley J. Smith and her companion, Susan Kliebenstein, of Clifton Forge, Va., and Kathryn L. Lane (Mike) of Clarksburg, W.Va.; two brothers, Harold Fleeger (Sally) and Richard Fleeger (Shirley); three sisters, Blanche Downing (David), Grace Waterson (Clarence) and Gloria Risinger (Norman); six grandchildren, Heather Odom (Mike), Jason Lane (Angie), Angi Lamont (Paul), Debbie Vaughan (Jason), Mary Jo Kirk (James) and Paul Heeter; and 11 great-grandchildren, Taylor Lambert, Alex Odom, Catie Odom, Colin Odom, Lilly Lane, Wade Lane, Ricky Carpenter, Trevor Carpenter, Eli Vaughan, Peyton Vaughan and Chelsea Vaughan.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Ann Heeter; a son, James Paul Heeter; and two brothers, Harry Fleeger and Charles Fleeger.

HEETER — Friends of Elnora Catherine Heeter, who passed away Wednesday Feb. 20, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora, PA 16025.A funeral service will be at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Susan Kliebenstein presiding.
