Ethel M. Vinroe Brandenburg, 85, of Zelienople died Monday evening at UPMC Passavant.

She was the beloved wife of Alvin Brandenburg for 64 years. She was born and raised in Ellwood City, and was the daughter of the late Clifford and Ethel Wise Vinroe.

Ethel retired from Rite Aid and Plesnicks Shoe Store in Zelienople. She loved crocheting, but most of all loved her family.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Violet Roxbury and Daisy Hayden; and four brothers, Lavern, Ed, Herb and Dale Vinroe.

She is survived by her husband, Alvin; two daughters, Darla Azevedo and her husband, Reuben, of Cranberry Township and Cindy Rice of Zelienople; one son, Perry Brandenburg of Slippery Rock; six grandchildren, Alexa and Conor Azevedo, Ashley and Trisha Rice and Hunter and Kacie Brandenburg.

BRANDENBURG — Friends and relatives of Ethel M. Vinroe Brandenburg, who died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 114 W. Spring St., Zelienople.

A private funeral service for family will follow.
