William Cirillo

William M. Cirillo, 78, of Butler passed away Monday at his home.

Born in Butler on June 15, 1934, he was the son of the late Paul and Michalena Cirillo.

He was formerly employed at Cirillo’s Gulf Station, Pullman Standard, the Butler VA Medical Center, Meals on Wheels, the Mushroom Mine and the Butler County Traveling Library.

He also volunteered at the Butler VA Medical Center.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and the Sons of Italy.

He is survived by one daughter, Valerie Crawford and her husband, David, of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sons, Steven Vincent and his wife, Cheryl, of Butler, Paul F. Cirillo and his wife, Melissa, of Butler, and Dominic J. Cirillo of Iowa City, Iowa.

He is also survived by one brother, Michael Cirillo of Butler; two sisters-in-law, Norma Cirillo of Butler and Effie Cirillo of Butler; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Brindle Cirillo, who passed away Sept. 23, 1984; five brothers, Pete Cirillo, Dominic Cirillo, Steve Cirillo, John “Jinks” Cirillo and Anthony Cirillo; and six sisters, Angeline Schaffner, Theresa Beck, Josephine “Jody” Cirillo, Mary Cirillo, Helen Hartwell and Emma Barkley.

CIRILLO — Friends of William M. Cirillo, who passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. Burial will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery.The bereavement group of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church will meet at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Wednesday to conduct a scriptural wake service.For more information, go to www.martinfh.net.
