Marie Teets

Marie Conner Teets, 79, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Freedom, passed away Sunday after a courageous and long battle with cancer.

She was the beloved wife of 57 years of Clifford D. Teets; loving mother of Ellen Rinestine, Cecil Teets (Becky Ruff) and the late Clifford A. Teets; sister of Marjorie Rice of Alabama; and dear grandmother of Thea and Michael Teets, and Justin and Alexis Ruff.

Marie grew up in Rochester, Pa., and graduated from Geneva College. She spent 30 years working for TWA as a sales representative and, after retirement, she started her own travel agency. She enjoyed traveling all over the world.

Most people will know Marie as the managing director of the year-round Comtra Theater in Cranberry. She continued even up to last year when she performed the Hepburn role in “On Golden Pond” with her daughter, Ellen, and reprised one of her favorite roles in “Arsenic and Old Lace.” She will be missed by family, friends, and fellow cast members.

TEETS — Friends of Marie C. Teets, who passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME of Cranberry, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, 724-772-8800. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
