George G. O'Brien
George G. O'Brien, 83, of Cranberry Township passed away peacefully Friday at Cranberry Place, UPMC Passavant.
George was born in Pittsburgh on Nov. 11, 1929, and was the son of Daniel D. and Stella (Bosh) O'Brien.
He was preceded in death by his parents and older brothers, Daniel David and Eugene Edward “Eddie.”
George served in the U.S. Navy for four years and was honorably discharged in 1953. He was very active in VFW Post 879 in Cranberry Township. George worked at the U.S. Steel Homestead Works in the power and fuel department and retired in 1987.
George lived most of his life in West Mifflin before moving to Cranberry Township in 1993. He also had a summer home in Edinboro, Pa., for more than 30 years.
George is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia (Kroll); daughter, Shelley Dolan (Craig) of Bel Air, Md.; son, Terry (former daughter-in-law, Ann) of Morgantown, W.Va.; and daughter, Wendy Lydon (Jack) of Cranberry Township. He also is survived by six grandchildren, Mollai and Craig Dolan, Shane, Colin and Trent O'Brien and Keara Lydon; brother-in-law, Jim Kroll (Sandy) of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
O'BRIEN — Visitation for George G.
