Gary D. “Jake” Haskin, 55, of Butler passed away at 5:28 p.m. Thursday at his home following a battle with colon cancer.

Gary was born Feb. 12, 1957, in Lawrence County. He was the son of the late Emory “Hip” Haskin and the late Thelma B. Kniess Haskin.

He is survived by two daughters, Christina (Justin) Fitzpatrick of Butler and Amanda Haskin of Butler; and three grandchildren, Mackenzie Brown, Evan Brown and Brice Hamrick, all of Butler; five sisters, Mary J. Bartley of Prospect, Mrs. Charles (Verna) Yearick of Butler, Mrs. Charles (Wanda) Marshall of Petrolia, Brenda Tarr of Butler and Donna Haskin of New Castle; and one brother, Jim Haskin of Parker.

He was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.

He is gone from this world but not from our hearts.

HASKIN — Friends of Gary D. “Jake” Haskin of Butler, who passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, will be received at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Robert V. Mathias, retired Presbyterian minister, officiating.The burial will be private.
