Lois J. Brodmerkel Wirth Viney

Our blessed and loving mom, Lois J. Brodmerkel Wirth Viney, 77, of Spotsylvania County, Va., formerly of Cranberry Township, passed away Monday at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Lois touched many lives and lived a full and vibrant life. She will be missed by all. Her love and devotion to family, God, her pets, flowers, nature and wildlife was her core belief which she passed on to all that knew her.

Lois married Robert J. Wirth Sr. on June 5, 1953, and settled in Glenshaw. In 1963, she and Bob moved to Alexandria, Va., and then to Mount Vernon, Va., along with their four children. For the next 22 years Lois dedicated herself to raising her family.

After her first husband's death in 1979, Lois married Gerald Viney. Lois and Jerry relocated to Lois' family farm in Cranberry where they remained until 2004. They then moved to Fredericksburg, Va., to be closer to their children.

Lois was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert J. Wirth; her second husband, Gerald J. Viney; her mother and father, Bill and Pearl Brodmerkel; her brother, Bill Brodmerkel Jr.; her sister, Nancy Raybold; and her stepdaughter, Donna Viney.

Her survivors include her sons, Bob Wirth Jr. (Sandra) and Kevin Wirth- Jannell; daughters, Diane Beavers (Scott) and Cheryl Wirth; stepchildren, MaryAnn Gigure (Robert), Gerald Viney (Christa) and Patrick Viney; brother, Jim Brodmerkel (Pat); grandchildren, Cody Beavers, Jackson and Christopher Wirth-Jannell and Julianne Viney; and numerous nieces and nephews.
