Deana L. Shakley

Deana Shakley

Deana L. Shakley, 45, of Parker passed away at 6:48 a.m. Wednesday at the Parker Personal Care Home in Parker following a brief illness.

Born in Butler on March 3, 1967, she was the daughter of Dean R. Shakley of Parker, who survives, and the late Elizabeth “Betty” Rose Sproull Shakley.

Deana was a graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School in Foxburg. She and her parents attended most home and away A-C Valley basketball games for well over 20 years. Because of her disability, she was recognized by both the players and cheerleaders with game balls, tokens and plaques.

She assisted her late mother in the kitchen of the Parker Fire Department preparing meals for dinners and bingo.

Deana was a faithful member of the former St. Mary's Catholic Church at Parker and, until ill health prevented her attendance, she attended Mass each Saturday evening at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Emlenton.

Following the passing of her mother, she looked forward to eating at many area restaurants and attending fire functions at the Parker fire hall, accompanied by her father.

Surviving in addition to her father, are a sister, Pamela (Hussein) Olama of Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, James Sproull of Richmond, Va., and Robert “Skip” (Beverly) Sproull of Kennesaw, Ga.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a sister, Christine “Chris” Sproull Ace.
