Butler High School will present the musical-comedy “Little Me” at 7:30 p.m. March 15 and 16 in the Butler Senior High School auditorium.

Tickets are $10 in advance and available at May's Music Shoppe, 247 E. Jefferson St., and $12 at the door on performance nights.

“Little Me” has a script by Neil Simon and music by Cy Coleman and tells the story of Belle Poitrine's attempt to ascend from the wrong side of the tracks to an exquisite life of luxury.

The action is carried out through a series of vignettes with integrated music and choreography, in which an older, wiser Belle tells an interviewer the story of her life as a younger, naive Belle plays out the scenes as they occur.

Early in the story she meets highborn Noble Eggleston, whom she cannot marry because she does not have “wealth, culture and social position.” She strives to achieve these goals through her association with seven men over the course of her life.

On Broadway one actor, Sid Caesar, originally played all of the men; this presentation continues this casting tradition.

Dale VanLaningham is the director, and Danielle Smith is the choreographer.

Alicia Pabrinkas is the vocal director, Shanna Kelly is the orchestra conductor and David Smith is the technical director.

Robert Harrison is the scene designer, and Austin Uram is the scenic/artistic adviser. Jennifer Mariacher is in charge of props, and Carol Albright, Audrey Eberle and Deb Morarn are in charge of costumes.
