Sarah A. 'Sally' Day

Sarah Day

Sarah A. “Sally” Day, 82, of Fairview passed away peacefully Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital in the presence of her family and their love.

She was born June 23, 1930, in Rimersburg, the daughter of Denny J. and Edna P. (McCafferty) Summerville.

She graduated from Union Joint High School.

She married the love of her life, Regis H. Day on Feb. 19, 1951, and they were blessed with 61 beautiful years of marriage together.

Sally was a lifelong member of Fairview United Methodist Church. She worked for five years at the Level Works in Parker on the production line, but it was as a wife, mother and grandmother that she found her true calling, devoting herself wholly to her family.

Sally was an excellent cook and baker who could cook a meal to warm any heart. She also enjoyed working with her flowers in the yard, going to yard sales, playing cards in her younger years, and collecting blue glass. Her other interests included bowling, roller skating in her youth, and reading the best of all novels, the Holy Bible.

Sally was loved by all who knew her. She touched many with her kind ways and generous heart. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed and remembered fondly by her family and friends.

Her memory will be carried on with love by her husband, Regis H. Day of Fairview; her son, Dennis Day of Fairview; her daughter, Brenda Smith and her husband, Thomas, of Fairview; two grandsons, Nathan Smith of Fairview and Adam Smith of Sarver; one brother, Joseph E.
