Daszo 'David' Kati

Daszo “David” Kati, 87, of Zelienople passed away Friday afternoon in Good Samaritan Hospice House, Wexford.

Born in Zelienople, March 3, 1925, he was the son of the late Charles and Emma Lawrence Kati.

Dave was a life member of the St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, Zelienople.

He retired from Armco in Ambridge with more than 40 years of service.

Dave proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a seaman first class.

He was a member of the Hungarian Club of Zelienople and the Harmony-Evans City VFW 499. He loved playing cards.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Grace Annarumo Kati, in May 1993; four brothers, Joseph, Charles, Eugene and William; and two sisters, Rose Barkacz and Julia Vrana.

Surviving are one brother, John (Esther) Kati; his companion for 17 years, Peggy McCormick of Harmony; and four stepdaughters, Deloris, Pamela and Patricia McCormick, all of Harmony, and Karen Bunnell of Zelienople.

KATI — Relatives and friends of Daszo “David” Kati, who died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, will be received at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 114 W. Spring St., Zelienople from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, Zelienople.Additional information may be obtained at www.kinsey-volzfuneralhome.com.
