Betty Kane

Betty Jean “B.J.” Carbeau Kane, 85, of Zelienople passed away Tuesday at the Scottsdale Healthcare Center in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Born April 21, 1927, in Zelienople, she was the daughter of the late Erma (Wise) King.

B.J. was a lifelong member of the Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Connoquenessing Country Club. For many years, she enjoyed playing bridge, but above all, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She is survived by her three children, Kelley O'Halloran and her husband, Michael, of Zelienople, Tracy A. Landau and her husband, Thomas, of Wexford and Robert L. Carbeau Jr. and his wife, Debra, of Zelienople; and her four grandchildren, Joshua Cahall, Shannon O'Halloran, Robert L. “Trey” Carbeau III and Charles W. Carbeau.

In addition to her parents, B.J. was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert L. Carbeau Sr., who passed away on Dec. 14, 1989, and Louis Kane, who passed away on Dec. 24, 2006; and her grandson, Connor James O'Halloran.

KANE — A funeral ceremony for Betty Jean “B.J.” Carbeau Kane, who passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople with the Rev. Dr. N. Graham Standish officiating.At the conclusion of the ceremony, B.J.'s family will welcome friends to join them for a time of fellowship in the church social hall.She will be laid to rest privately by her immediate family at the Zelienople Community Mausoleum.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her honor in support of the Calvin Presbyterian Church, 415 E.
