Goldie Pearl Fowler Eyles, 87, of Luther Court in Zelienople passed away Monday at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Born March 30, 1925, in Marshall Township, she was the daughter of the late Ira M. and Emma (Scharf) Fowler.

Goldie was a member of the English Lutheran Church for many years. She also was an active member of the Keenagers and the American Legion World War I Ladies Auxiliary in Beaver Falls. She loved to bake and was known for her homemade German chocolate cakes and cinnamon rolls. During her free time, she enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Above all, Goldie was a selfless caregiver whose heart of gold will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her two stepchildren, Harvey W. Eyles and his wife, Barbara, of Harmony and Patricia “Jean” Kohler and her husband, Raymond, of Zelienople; her stepdaughter-in-law, Margaret Kramer of Zelienople; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Goldie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 20 years, Harvey R. Eyles, who she married on Aug. 2, 1972, and who passed away on June 24, 1993; her two stepsons, Richard N. Eyles and Edwin E. Eyles; her five brothers, Kenneth D. Fowler, Floyd L. Fowler, Ira G. “Jr.” Fowler, William H. Fowler and Clyde J. Fowler; and her seven sisters, Meryle “Dolly” Baird, Ethel McClintock-Toll, Gladys Williams, Hazel Greasler-Gerth, Mabel Buff, Helen Harper-Stahl-Perry and Ruth Fowler.

EYLES — Goldie Pearl Fowler Eyles died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013. Goldie's family will welcome friends from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Her funeral ceremony will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the English Lutheran Church, 200 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. Robert A. Keplinger officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Zelienople Community Mausoleum.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of the American Legion, 308 W.
