Paula Louise Callihan

Paula Callihan

Paula Louise Callihan, 52, of Lakewood, Colo., formerly of Chicora, died unexpectedly Wednesday at her home.

Born on Dec. 11, 1960, Paula was the loving daughter of Paul Callihan of Chicora and LaVaun M. Campbell Cavarra of Lakewood, Colo.

Paula was a 1979 graduate of Wheat Ridge High School in Wheat Ridge, Colo. She had been employed by Ace Cash Express/Check Cashing, Farmers Insurance and Sassy Fabrics and she had worked for her mother at “A Sterling Affair” in Lakewood and also for her brother, Gary, at the Silver Mine in Rancho Mirage, Calif., selling sterling silver jewelry for many years.

Paula's favorite place was her Grandma and Grandpa's farm in Chicora. She loved animals and nature and raised many spirits with good intentions and positive energy. She adored her cat, Nana, and always remembered her dogs, Happy, Thunder, Bear and Lucky. Her favorite pet was her potbelly pig, Pearly. Paula spent hours upon hours in the garden and kitchen cooking for her family, or canning salsa and jalapeños with her sister-in-law, Beverly Foguth and grandma, Lucy.

She loved beautiful weather and being in the sun out west. She enjoyed laughing, shopping, nature, the company of her friends and family and practicing and preaching patience. She loved the water and boating. Paula lived a joyful life to the fullest.

She is survived by her son, Dexter Foguth, of Linden, Mich., who was the love of her life. Dexter wants everyone to know he could not have asked for a better mother, and he treasured her existence. Also surviving are her husband, Curt Foguth of Linden, Mich.; a stepson, Jim Foguth of Butler; her mother, LaVaun M. Campbell Cavarra of Lakewood, Colo.; her father, Paul Callihan and his wife, Brenda, of Chicora; a brother, Gary Callihan and his wife, Angelica, of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; a niece, Madison Callihan; and a nephew, Sebastian Melendez; as well as a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
