Knoch High students go 'Crazy for You'

JEFFERSON TWP — Knoch High School will present the musical “Crazy for You” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28 and March 1 and 2 in the high school auditorium.

With a book by Ken Ludwig and music and lyrics of George and Ira Gershwin, “Crazy for You” is a charming and “Embraceable” musical.

After ruining his audition for star producer Bela Zangler, aspiring-but-clumsy-footed actor Bobby Child is sent to foreclose on the Gaiety Theater in Deadrock, Nev.

Upon arrival, he falls instantly in love with the theater owner's daughter, Polly Baker, and, instead of foreclosing on the theater, schemes to win Polly's heart by staging a show that will raise enough money to save her family's theater. When a furious Polly learns of Bobby's identity, he disguises himself as Zangler and brings Zangler's Follies to Deadrock.

Chaos ensues when Polly falls in love with the fake Zangler, just in time for Bobby's fiancee Irene, Bobby's mother and the real Bela Zangler to descend on Deadrock.

Jennifer Bronder is director. Kelly Anthony and Shawna Sefton are the student directors. The vocal director is Mike Sypien, and pit orchestra director is Ricardo Hayden Jr.

Gwen Pysh is the choreographer, and Shawn Wirginis is the technical director.

Wynne Jenkins is the costume designer, and Doug Kamer is the art director.
