Dale W. Harter, 80, of Butler passed away Saturday surrounded by his family celebrating his 80th birthday in Wexford.

He was born Jan. 18, 1933, in Evans City, and was the son of the late James and Fern (Rape) Harter.

Dale retired from Purvis Brothers Trucking, and he was a member of the Syria Shrine.

Surviving are his wife, Helen (Davidson) Harter; four daughters, Sharian (Paul) Weber of Wexford, Beverly (Dave) Fiscus of Wexford, Brenda Hepner of Sewickley and Sandi (Dave) Kuny of North Carolina; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth Noah of Harmony and Mary Ann Heimer of California.

He also was preceded in death by three brothers.
