James Martsolf

James Robert Martsolf, 77, of Butler passed away Wednesday evening in the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.

He was born Sept. 18, 1935, in Brady Township, and was the son of the late John L. and Margaret Agnes McClymonds Martsolf.

He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Prospect.

Jim was a U.S. Army Veteran.

He was a self-employed truck driver, worked as the deputy director on the Board of Elections and retired from Warnick Engineering in Butler.

Jim was a member of the NRA and enjoyed shooting his guns. He loved his family, time with his grandchildren and his friends at Roxy's Diner in Prospect.

He is survived by his wife, Veva I. Herold Martsolf, who he married Dec. 31, 1955; his children, Tami (James Todd) Eck of Prospect and James (Pamela) H. Martsolf of Washington, Pa.; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Ann Martsolf.

MARTSOLF — Visitation for James Robert Martsolf, who passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Prospect, with Pastor Ben Oesterling officiating.
