Willis Jackson

Willis L. “Bill” Jackson, 78, of Main Street, Emlenton, passed away at 6:12 p.m. Sunday at Clarion Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Jackson was born in Parker's Landing, Allegheny Township, Butler County, on July 5, 1934. He was the son of the late Warren and Mae Wilcox Jackson.

He was a member of the Emlenton Presbyterian Church.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, the company of his family and visiting with friends at the various sportsman clubs where he held memberships.

Bill was a truck driver for more than 40 years. He had been employed for many years with H.E. Shoup Trucking in Emlenton.

Bill hauled bottles from the Continental Can Co. to the Pennzoil Refinery, and was affectionately known by their employees as “Billion Bottle Bill.”

Mr. Jackson was married in Emlenton on April 19, 1954, to Leda Coulter, and she preceded him in death on July 11, 2001.

Surviving are five sons, Mark E. Jackson and his wife, Deb, of Emlenton, Richard K. “Coony” Jackson of Emlenton, Jeffrey A. Jackson and his wife, Ginger, of Bradford, Warren Eric Jackson of Emlenton and Stephen M. Jackson of Emlenton; a brother, John Jackson and his wife, Linda; and a sister, Louise Miller and her husband, Tom, all of Parker. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Stephanie Graham of Bruin, Shawn M. Jackson of Emlenton, Amanda L. Jackson of Karns City, Brandy L. Jackson of Emlenton and Eva Jackson of Emlenton; two great-grandsons, Gavin Graham of Bruin and Matthew Manuel of Karns City; a former daughter-in-law, Vickie Warner; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and brothers and sisters-in-law.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Jackson and his wife, Eloise, and Charles Jackson and his wife, Lucille.

JACKSON — Friends of Willis L. “Bill” Jackson, who passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, will be received at the Hile Funeral Home, 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton, from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Lori Danielson, pastor of the Emlenton Presbyterian Church, officiating.The interment will be in Scrubgrass Cemetery, Emlenton.Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarion-Forest VNA, 271 Perkins Road, Clarion, PA 16214, or to the Cancer Center at Clarion Hospital, One Hospital Drive, Clarion PA 16214.Condolences to the family may be sent online by visiting www.hilefh.com.
