Bishop OKs Latin Mass at parish
LATROBE — A church in southwestern Pennsylvania has received approval to offer a weekly Latin Mass.
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Greensburg says Holy Family Church in Latrobe will offer the Mass at 2 p.m. Sundays, beginning this Sunday.
Bishop Lawrence Brandt had approved the move in December, but a newspaper reported Monday that it’s taken some time to find Latin materials for the service.
The church used Latin until 1962, when religious officials allowed Mass to be celebrated in local languages.
