Marilyn Kauffman

Marilyn J. Kauffman, 80, of Butler passed away at 10:15 p.m. Saturday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.

She was born Nov. 16, 1932, in Butler to the late Floyd Vensel and Johanna Enright Vensel.

She worked for 33 years at Butler Memorial Hospital and before that at Bell of Pennsylvania as a telephone operator.

Mrs. Kauffman was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church. She also was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and belonged to their drum and bugle corps.

She loved to travel with her family and friends. Her favorite pastime was watching sports, especially the New York Yankees playing baseball.

Mrs. Kauffman is survived by two sons, Robert B. Kauffman and David L. Kauffman and his wife, Keri A., all of Butler; three grandchildren, Joshua L. Kauffman, Jordan E. Kauffman and Jacob N. Kauffman; one sister-in-law, Geraldine Faulhaber and her husband, Robert, of Sarasota, Fla.; and also by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee R. Kauffman, Jr., who she was married to for 25 years and who passed away on Sept. 14, 1984, and one sister, Martha Enright.

KAUFFMAN— Friends of Marilyn J. Kauffman, 80, of Butler, who passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 124 East North St., Butler.A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler.
