Mary Elizabeth 'Betty' Campbell

Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Campbell, 90, of Saxonburg passed away Wednesday at the Saxony Health Center.

Born Oct. 13, 1922, in Hermine, Pa., she was the daughter of John Jacob Fisher and Mabel Hannah Fisher.

Betty’s family moved during the 1930s to Butler County in the Prospect area. She graduated from Prospect High School.

Betty was a homemaker. She also had worked at the Butler VA Hospital, W.T. Grant and as a bus aide for the Clarence Brown School for Disabled Children. She was a member of the Clinton Presbyterian Church.

Betty was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, embroidery, growing flowers, sightseeing and fishing with her husband. She loved to have family gatherings. She enjoyed her Bible study classes and spending time with her friends. She was a wonderful homemaker who loved being surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her loving husband, William G. Campbell, who she married Sept. 30, 1950; one son, William G. (Alice) Campbell II of Saxonburg; four daughters, Mary Kay Campbell of Horseheads, N.Y., Jeanne Cehula of Lyndora, Joy (Mike) Krchelich of Saxonburg and Marcia (Mike) Wright of Chicora; sister-in-law, Shirley Fisher of Florida; 11 grandchildren, Tonya, Michael and Thomas Krchelich, Jamie and Chad Krumpe, Cortnee and Jena Garvin, Thane Cehula, Jacob Durand, Marta Eva and Ashleigh Hardes; eight great-grandchildren; one nephew, Kerry Fisher; and two nieces, Robin Welsh and Shara Savasta.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Harry A. Fisher.

CAMPBELL — Friends of Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Campbell, who passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jason Sinagara officiating. Interment will follow in Clinton Presbyterian Church Cemetery.Information also is available at www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com.
