Cora Carnahan

Cora M. Carnahan, 90, of Saxonburg passed away Thursday at the Saxony Health Center.

Born Aug. 24, 1922, in Arnold, Pa., she was the daughter of Charles and Ella Shaffer Lerner.

Cora met her husband, Warren, while working at PPG in Creighton in 1944, and she became a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling with her brother and sister throughout the country. She spent many hours playing games with her grandchildren. Cora was passionate about her flower gardens and baking bread. She was well versed in classic movie trivia, singing songs of the past and engaging in word search puzzles.

Surviving are husband, Warren R. Carnahan, who she married Jan. 18, 1947; one son, Donald (Susan) Carnahan of Sarver; four daughters, Kathy (William) Molnar of Kittanning, Susan (Michael) Salsgiver of Waldo, Fla., Ruth (Terry) Lyons of Bailey, Colo., and Cindy Tudor of Mebane, N.C.; three brothers, Louis Lerner of Sun City, Calif., Charles Lerner of Montgomery, Ala., and John Lerner of Lower Burrell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jeffrey Carnahan; brother, Larry Lerner; brother, Albert Lerner; and sister, Aldine MacDonald.

CARNAHAN — Friends of Cora M. Carnahan, who passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev Robert Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.Information also is available at www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com.
