Goldie M. Buterbaugh

Goldie M. Buterbaugh, 87, of Cherry Tree, Indiana County, died Wednesday at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.

Born Aug. 28, 1925, in Barnesboro, Cambria County, she was the daughter of George J. and Shirley A. (Lantzy) Stephens.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl Jr., in 1984; son, Earl Leslie, in 1969; infant grandchildren, Brian Earl and Scott Stephen; sister, Mae Ahlas; brothers, George and Clayton; and son-in-law, Carl Sensabaugh.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol, who is married to John “Jay” Wagner, of Eau Claire and Cindy Sensabaugh of Cherry Tree; grandchildren, Jay Wagner and Kerri Sassano and her husband, Tony; great-grandchildren, Mia Lynne and Brady Anthony Sassano; and sister, Shirley Gaston and her husband, Richard, of North Port, Fla.

Goldie was the vice president of the Buterbaugh Brothers Land and Timber Corp. following the death of her husband.

She was a faithful member of the Uniontown Church of Christ and devoted her life to her family and her faith.

BUTERBAUGH — Friends of Goldie M. Buterbaugh, who died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Long-Contres Funeral Home, Cherry Tree, Indiana County, where a funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday with Albert Brown officiating. The interment will be in Citizens Cemetery.
