Wilbert Raymond Tebay

Wilbert Raymond Tebay, 83, of Butler passed away at 7:25 p.m. Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital following a yearlong illness.

Wilbert was born April 7, 1929, in Butler. He was the son of the late Raymond Thomas Tebay and the late Anna Florence Cross Tebay.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He was a drag line operator (Big Joe) for Adobe Mining.

Wilbert is survived by his daughter, Julie Robinson and her husband, Mac, of Woodruff, S.C.; two grandchildren, Nicole McAmish and her husband, Chris, and Kateland Burch and her husband, Darren; and four great-grandchildren, Cade, Aiden and Fiona McAmish and Aubree Burch. Also surviving are three sisters, Janet Thompson of Hooker, Geraldine Webb of Meridian and Ethel Curry of Zelienople; one brother, Dewayne Tebay of Barkeyville; and his nephew and caregiver throughout his illness, Robert Morris.

He was preceded in death by one brother, William Tebay, and two infant sisters.

TEBAY — Friends of Wilbert Raymond Tebay, who passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, will be received at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin Channel of the Concord Presbyterian Church officiating.The VFW Post 249 and the American Legion Post 778 will provide military honors at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
