Mary Jean Harris Beck, 81, of Cranberry Township passed away Monday evening at UPMC Cranberry Place, Cranberry Township.

Born in Sewickley, Feb. 25, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ian M. and Edith Thompson Harris.

Mary Jean was a Protestant.

She retired as a secretary from the Cranberry Water and Sewage Authority where she worked for more than 30 years.

She was preceded in death by one son, David S. Beck.

Surviving are two sons, Robert (Brenda) Beck of Harmony and James (Sally) Beck of Perkasie, Pa.; two sisters, Jan (Ted) Snyder of Virginia Beach, Va., and Edith “Snooks” Ervin of Chicago; one brother, William Harris of Florida; and nine grandchildren.

BECK — Friends and relatives of Mary Jean Harris Beck, who passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, will be received at A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 114 W. Spring St., Zelienople, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. R Wayne Schar of Springdale United Methodist Church officiating.
